Redefining component manufacturing
Bodycote operates the largest Hot Isostatic Pressing network in the world. This versatile process is capable of manufacturing fully dense components with isotropic and corrosion resistant properties from powder metal, allowing flexibility to manufacture complex components with minimal machining. Such design flexibility can, for example, eliminate up to 80% of the welds needed for subsea manifold systems.

Corrosion resistance for stainless steel
In tough downhole and offshore environments, corrosion is the enemy that frequently leads to premature failures. Stainless steel, nickel-based and cobalt-chromium alloys offer a solution, but bring their own issues of lower mechanical properties, wear resistance, and galling. Bodycote’s proprietary S³P processes provide surface hardening that results in increased key mechanical properties, improved wear, and resistance to galling, all without sacrificing the corrosion resistance of the material.
